Chautauqua Institution Wedding | New York
Grace and Cam were married on Memorial Day weekend at the Chautauqua Institution in New York. The sun peaked out at sunset after a chilly, rainy day and a beautiful rainbow appeared. I do not get to photograph portraits in front of rainbows often, but when I do, the photos are pretty epic.
I want to highlight something else that is quite epic, the story about Grace’s engagement ring. From the bride,
Cam’s maternal grandfather was the 4th man to walk on the moon during the Apollo 12 mission in which he was the lunar modular commander. He became a very talented painter after he retired from NASA. And he took my engagement ring to the international space station during Skylab III for 59 days as it was his wife’s ring. Cam was very close with his grandfather and he passed in 2018 so it means a lot to us.
