How to create the best wedding vendor team
Congrats on your recent engagement! You are excited, but also anxious about the endless list of vendors to contact, interview and hire for one of the biggest days of your life. Where do you start? How do you find a team that works well together and has similar styles? These are all great questions and I am here to help!
Wedding planners and designers are worth every penny
Wedding planners and designers are true experts in helping your vision come to life on your wedding day. They have a deep network of talented vendors and can match them to perfection based on your style, wants and needs. Every couple is different and working with an expert to help with that match making will make your life a whole lot easier. If you don’t know where to even begin with wedding planning, contacting a planner is always a great start.
Highlight your top three most important wedding vendors and contact them first
If you don’t have the budget for a planner, what the three most important vendors on your wedding day? That varies for each couple. For some it may be the band, florist and photographer. For others it may be the venue, hair stylist and bridal shop. Once you have booked your top vendors, ask them for some recommendations. Most vendors have a wedding vendor list that they are more than happy to share. I share a wedding guide to every couple that books me. I want my couples to have just as great of an experience with their other vendors as they will have with me.
Friends that were recently married
Why is “recently” the key word here? The wedding industry moves fast, very fast. Styles come and go. Life changes do happen. Businesses open and some close. Ask a recently married friend who they used for their big day and their candid opinion about that vendor’s services. Were they easy to get in touch with? How did they enjoy working with them leading up to and on their wedding day? Was there anything they wish they could have done better?
